[Rhodes22-list] Backstay replacement/upgrade

I replace mine a few years ago for all of the reasons mentioned. It was
around $100 not really a price consideration. I just sent it in to a rigger
and he sent back the new one and the old one. It was really a simple
process. Like Nike says, Just do it.

Joe

I would make the replacement backstay exactly the way the old one was made
if I were doing it so as to make installation easier and avoid modifying the
masthead. 1/8" cable is plenty strong for the amount of sail we carry.
