Caesar,

I rarely need to go forward and if you remain in the cabin and cockpit it's really tough to fall out of our boats. The one time I felt that I needed to tether myself to the boat I tied a bowline around myself and a square knot around one of the poptop arms.

In cold water (Washington state) you want to be tethered so you can't reach the water. Hypothermia kicks in fast and you may not be able to get back in the boat if you're in ice cold water.

Common sense will usually keep you in the cockpit of a Rhodes. Just don't try to pee beer overboard.

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Safety Harness Attachment Point on Rhodes 22

Hi All,

What do you guys have in place on your boat for securing yourself in the cockpit during heavy weather sailing?

What attachment for your safety harness to keep you in the cockpit when single handling in rough conditions?

I need help in deciding what to install, and where to install  something that would not fail should it come to that.

Thanks,
Caesar
