Dave,

Welcome back!  I hope your trip to Europe went well.

We had a grand time, with lots of good weather (no fog), and it rained a bit on
only one day.  The company was great, and the food was perhaps greater.
We rafted up and had pot-luck style dinners quite a bit.  Steve and his son Mike
walked with beef and chicken already seasoned to feed an army.  I still have a
pack of their meat in my fridge.

We did a lot more motoring overall, than we sailed, but sailed we did.  Sailing
down into Sidney harbor we had winds in excess of 15 mph on the nose, and it was
great tacking back and forth with a lot of canvas out, and washing the foot of
the genoa in the water.  Fun.

The entire trip was incident free, and much more enjoyable than last year.   I
think we spent much more time at each destination than we did last year, apart
from our Customs stop at Roche harbor. This year we all met together and stayed
together with and additional sailing couple we met at Washington Park form
Montana.

After sailing with us, Chris headed back to Sidney to meet with family for about
two more weeks of sailing in that area.

This is the second year I bought a fishing permit and did not fish.  Next year,
God's willing; I will try to slow things down a bit by planing fewer
destinations, and spending more time at each of them.

The icing on the cake for me was just after docking at our departure point at
Washington Park, someone shouted "look orcas", and there they were. a pod of
orcas heading south in Rosario Strait.  I my sailing buddy tried to take some
shots, but I am doubtful of the quality, even if he was successful.

I took a few pictures of the guys' boat which I will share later.

Hi Casear and Chris.  I'm just back from our trip to Europe and flew
over the San Juans again last night from Vancouver back to Seatte -
reminded me I haven't seen anything from you all on the trip.  Hope if
went well.

Dave
