[Rhodes22-list] Genoa failure

Bob,
We had this happen to our genoa after 6 or 7 years. I think we
repaired it by pulling it taut and just putting the screw/bolt
through what was left of the loop. A couple of years later we had the
sail luff resewn with a boltrope (or whatever they call it - it's not
rope) for the groove in the Schaeffer Snap-furl furler. It is likely
UV deterioration but after only two years, I would hope they are
giving you a good deal on repairing it. Ours was stored in the garage
for 5 months out of the year so our UV exposure was only half that of
a boat with year-round exposure.

Best,
Mary Lou
