Rick-- Thanks for the good advice and suggestions, which I';m sure I'll make use of. I'm stealing an idea from Chris Cowie and replacing the rode locker with a solar-powered fan, which should help at least some with humidity in the cabin. I'll ask sailing neighbors about issues you and others have raised. I'm taking a Coast Guard Auxiliary course & will get suggestions there, too.

Subject: Re: [Rhodes22-list] Boat Covers

A cover that encloses the boat works well for the northern winter. I do
that myself. But in hot, humid Florida, enclosing a boat is a biology
science project few would care to undertake. Plus, a painted covered boat
that is exposed to the sun won't be painted anymore when the cover is
removed.

The best cover for Florida is tent style. I helps to store the mast
horizontal on the boat to support the tent cover.

Stay away from metal grommets. When a hurricane is tearing the cover off,
plastic grommets do much less damage.
