[Rhodes22-list] Where's the holding tank?

I guess you missed the message to which Lee refers. Yes, Aeolus is god of the winds, but I suspect he's been used too much. Aeolia is a floating island, home of the 4 winds.

How about "Aeolius" ? Wasn't he a lessor god of the winds? We feel like praying to him occasionally!! He is invoked by flapping a 1751 Genoa.

  Lee--

If I named it areola I'd have to sail in circles.

I'm still having second thots about Aeolia. It makes me think of Oleo, as in margarine and oleaginous , and then I remember the oleo you got during WWII: a plastic bag with one lb of dead-white stuff that looked like putty, with about an ounce of dye your kneaded into it. Even a 2 yrs old it made a bad impression on me.

(If I remember correctly, oleo was invented during the siege of Paris in the Franco Prussian War, when people were reduced to eating rats. Brewery rats cost more than sewer rats.)

"Aeolian" sounds better to me. Can you name a boat with a naked adjective? "Aeolian Harp" seems kind of precious.

Odd: I have (or had) something of a reputation for titles of essays and poems ("Let Them Eat Wonderbread," "Lugging Vegetables to Nantucket," "Couldn't I Love You and Also want to go Dancing?" "Scrophodupolos Honored By Reception," etc) but trying to naming R22 has been frustrating.

  Peter,

Thanks for explaining the name. I thought you had misspelled areola.
