[Rhodes22-list] cockpit filler support panels

I don't have any pictures outside those that are in my travel stories, but I have the factory version. They consist of 4 panels that are made of the high denisty plastic that Stan uses, along with filler cusions that match our other cockpit cusions. The panels work fine and are lightweight, but I have noticed that they are beginning to bend a bit from frequent use. At some point I may have to add stiffiners or replace them with wooden boards.

Whatever you end up using, they are a fantastic addition to the boat. I have incorporated everything from mosquito netting to tarps to just the bimini to cover the cockpit when sleeping. I recently bought a two man tent that someone here recommended and am looking forward to trying it out when the weather cools a bit.

Anyone who has a board set up and could take some pictures, I'd like to see them just for reference. Thanks - rob

David,

My pine boards are 1\2" thick & have not cracked in 7 years under my
245 lbs. FYI, they have never been painted or varnished & are stored
under the cockpit seat on a mooring in salt water.

I guess they are strong enough.
