[Rhodes22-list] re placement tiller for 86 Rhodes 22

Rob

I've been monitoring & participating on the list since 2004 when I purchased
a boat from GB. I've owned various boats since I was 15.

At one point I admittedly stopped because so much of the stuff on the list
was off message. However a couple of years ago I visited Stan & he told me
that it was worth paying attention to the list & that the person who was
driving the list off message had left.

Most of my sailing has been in the NE USA, Cape Cod (Wellfleet, Truro, &
Buzzards Bay) as well as LI Sound (Norwalk, Westport, Stamford, etc). Now I
have my boat on Candlewood Lake in Ct. Fresh water is easier to deal with
from the point of view of maintenance, but I miss the ocean. I belong to a
racing club, but I usually race one design Flying Scots, because my Rhodes
is not configured to race. The Flying Scott is the antithesis of a Rhodes:
19', 650 lbs, big main, small jib, spinnaker for down wind.

Mount Gay, a splash of OJ, & a squeeze of lime with ice if you please. In
Antigua, 1969, $2 a bottle. Memories are the curse of the ancients.
