No I do not Rob. Expecting rain here shortly and I have it covered up over the cabin area. Nice and dry on the inside now... :) Thanks for the pictures---appreciate it.

Ed,
I had to replace the chain plate that attaches to the cabin top. I can send you
those pictures in a bit. Do you have any photos of what you're up against? -

Good morning. Good subject you brought up! And one I have been pondering.
The Rhodes I bought a while back had a leak. I took all the topside cabin
hardware off to reseal it. I also took the windows out as they had "water
streak" marks on the inside. After doing that I didn't think they were too bad.
The inside cabin interior is in good shape. Then I sprayed water on the hatch
and found where the majority of the water was coming from--the hatch installed
on the top starboard side. Removed the hatch to resael and the wood was soaked
on two sides----the forward and starboard. It was seperated and swollen and in
terrible shape. I removed the wood on both those sides. I am now back to the
"good wood" on the other two good sides. Now I am wondering what a "proper" fix
would be? Anyone have suggestion{s]? The chainplate on that side was also
loose as it was screwed to nothing but the bad wood. I am deciding also on
whether to put that chainplate back into !
!! original configuration or do the mod to the outside as others have done.
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ed H. A 1981 Rhodes
that is in otherwise good shape. :) :)

We're here. Not too much to talk about.

Fretless is winterized and all bundled up for the winter at our storage location
a couple of miles down the road.

Fred rebedded the cabintop hatch before we put her away. We were getting a lot
of water and weren't sure if it was the hatch itself.
just the bedding or maybe something around the spot where the wires to the mast
come through the cabintop. We really didn't spend enough time aboard this year
to figure it out so when we hauled her at the end of October, we brought her
home to the side yard where we could wait for a warm day and turn the hose on
the problem. It didn't take much to determine that the problem was the bedding
around the hatch.
Fred pulled the hatch, let the plywood in the cabintop dry - it was really solid
no softness at all - even on the edges - YAY! and then rebedded the hatch with
4200.

Not much else to tell. Already thinking about Spring. Determined to sail more
next year.

Happy holidays to all - whichever you celebrate.
