[Rhodes22-list] IMF Boom Fixture Question

Ron,
If it's the sort you can adjust, just ease it. A few people with R22s 
have fixed topping lifts and those do need to be detached for sailing 
but if it's adjustable, just release it so it doesn't have any affect 
on the movement of the boom. BTW, it works great but you have to 
remember to do it, otherwise you end up with miserable sail shape and 
you'll be wondering why you aren't pointing as high as you usually 
do. Also, if you have IMF and have used the topping lift to raise the 
boom with the sail furled you want to make sure you ease it so the 
boom is just below horizontal before you deploy the main. It deploys 
much more smoothly that way.
