[Rhodes22-list] Ahoy! (boat talk, right?)

Mine too. It was installed by GBI. I wanted it ahead of the centerboard, but the built-in floation makes that impossible unless you add a hole to the hull, or subtract a hole.

BTW, for about 4-5 months I couldn't get depth readings: tried & tried everything, talked to Garmin, talked to Airmar. The latter finally directed me to the one place in the installation instructions where the solution is provided (in tiny type): you need to fill the cup the sounder sits in with 2.4 oz propylene glycol.

Since there isn't much need of antifreeze here in FL, I had to buy a gallon ($28). So if you (or anyone else) needs some, I've got 125.6 oz I'd be happy to get rid of!

Mine is in lazarette beside the cockpit floor drain.

Anyway, give me your versions of best places to mount the data head and transducer. I like the Laz, but where in it? (forward in the compartment seems best to me.) If I go with a location under the cabin floor, where there? Am I good in the bilge or should I go more forward near the water tank? I am looking forward to the usual best advice. Se ya where it's wet.
