[Rhodes22-list] Motors

Jim,

FYI l ran a 4hp 2 stroke and a 5hp 4 stroke on the Carol Lee for 8 seasons
in coastal waters just south of Boston, MA. Even w 4 ft seas and 30k winds
I never felt that I did not have enough power. My new old Rhodes which will
be the Carol Lee 2 came w a 9.9 w electric start. I don't like the extra
weight of it but will see about the extra oomph.

Soon to be owner here. I had inquired about motors a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks for the helpful replys. I like the propane outboard made by Lehr.
Seems real clean. It has many advantages except it is relatively new, so
not much of a track record. Any first hand experience from anyone? 5 horse
is the most powerful made right now. I am not sure if that is enough (for
any outboard) for day to day use on the Great Lakes. Also, what is a
comfortable motor weight for the electric lift? Thanks all
