[Rhodes22-list] They're just nylon washers

Marian,

I've replaced the shims on Magic Moments. Start by purchasing a short
plastic rod that's reasonably uv resistant and which is larger in diameter
than your spreader (see
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=plastic+rod&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid
=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=plastic+rod&_sacat=0 for examples)

Directions:

Put a few bergs (ice cubes) in a tall glass with your favorite brand of rum
(Rummy will provide recommendations). Put the glass in the cup holder of a
folding nylon chair near where you'll be working.

Put the plastic rod in a miter box and set it for about 80 degrees +/-, and
cut off a piece which is about 1/8" long on the short side. Set the miter
box to 90 degrees and cut off a second piece which is about 1/8" on the
short side. Drill a hole in the middle of each for the bolt to secure the
spreader bracket to the mast and reassemble.

Fall into the chair, exhausted. If you're in peak physical condition, you'll
have just enough energy to sip your rum - and just enough time will have
passed to allow it to chill.

Now it's your turn to chill.

Can anyone provide a picture of these washers or shims? Any details about
size?

Thanks
