I am in the same climate in Md.. I have always lowered the mast and shrink
wrapped..This requires taking off the rudder and the antenna at the top of
the mast.. I run the fuel out of the motor and keep it on the boat. I also
remove the crutch.

There are some dessicant bags in the cabin. The thing to do is be sure they
do not put any tape on the gel coat and the railings. It is not air tight
and it seems to me to allow enough air to flow.
It seems to be fine in the spring with no mold.

I have never been able to find a tarp that could hold up to the winter winds
where I live.

Of course there is the cost but other than tarps , it is the cheapest. If
the tarps dont last then it is also the cheapest.
