My brother and I returned safely to East Greenwich, RI with a recycled 2007
on a new Triad trailer. All went well for the 650 mile trip.At the marina in
Rhode Island, we hoisted and tuned the mast in under an hour after receiving
expert instruction at the mother ship from Edvin and Constantino. The mast
hoist system makes this job so easy.Speaking of the mother ship - it is
amazing that such beautiful boats come forth from the seeming chaos that is
the factory. Edvin was able to retrieve a needed bolt from one of the side
rooms in less than 10 seconds. It would have taken me three days and I would
have needed a rope around my waist to find my way out.I wish I had a photo
of Edvin's face when he asked if we wanted to go for a test sail and I told
him I didn't know the first thing about sailing!! It was priceless. We did
launch and retrieve the boat at the dock to make sure, as Edvin said with a
gleam in his eyes "The boat won't sink".We found the Edenton folks to be
really friendly and we were reminded that although we "Yankees" think we're
friendly people, we are NOTHING like Southern friendly. Unfortunately, Stan
was still recuperating and weren't able to see him. In his absence I think
the room service at the "Not The Hilton" went on strike because we never
found the house phone to order the prime rib.We are looking forward to our
first "sail". (As soon as the new Lehr propane outboard comes in.)M
