Chris – No, actually the practical sailor article was part of my learning the answer. Apparently they had been asking to review the Rhodes 22 for some time, then got tired of waiting and simply turned up at a boat show (Miami?) and talked Stan into letting them go for a sail. That context makes the review even better.

Practical Sailor also reviewed the R22. Very positive. The article was
(probably still is) in Stan's info packet and at his online site. I once
sent an email to Darrell Nicholson, PS editor: their top-rated inexpensive
VHF was no longer available and I wondered if he could recommend another
make/model. I mentioned I was buying an R22. First sentence of his reply was
"Great choice of boat."

"Sailig Big on a Small Boat" by Jerry Cardwell has a picture of the Rhodes
22 on the cover and a review of the boat as one of the chapters.  The most
recent copyright is 2007.  You  pick it up on Amazon for the cost of a
