[Rhodes22-list] Rudder Repair

I am new too. I am enmeshed in a major overhaul of an old (74) boat. The
more I rebuild, the more I see unanticipated things that need to be done -
sometimes involving very major work - so it feels often that I am actually
going backwards. Fortunately I actually prefer working on boats to using
them. I spent 10 summers rebuilding a 1960 mahogany outboard and now that it
is done I spend more time preparing it for launch each year than I spend
using it. That drives my wife nuts.
I am 3 summers into the overhaul of my Rhodes and absolutely making it up as
I go so I value what other think.

No question or thought is stupid. I joined the site about six months ago
and am learning something new every day.
