  There are several things that affect the furling of the IMF. First , 
the sail tube rotates counterclockwise to let out the sail . The wind
should be coming over the port side of the boat to assist in pulling the
sail out on unfurling, and smoothing the sail for furling . The boom
should be lower on the aft end when furling , also helps smooth the sail
and lessen bunching on the furling tube. Make sure the outhaul line is
threaded right, and lube all blocks and turning points with sailcoat or
similar lube. Good Luck
