[Rhodes22-list] Outboard motor setup

Ok experienced R22 sailors - I need help.

I have it in my head that I would like to purchase a Lehr 9.9 propane
outboard for the new boat. I want to get the remote version which will
allow me to mount the throttle and transmission control to the sailboat
tiller for ease of use. (I have the Rhodes tiller to outboard connection
option)

Here's the rub. That particular version of the Lehr motor won't be available
until the end of June. So should I wait or opt for the motor with the built
in tiller which is available now?

My concern is I need to be able to control the motor and I'm not sure what
issues are involved with trying to operate a standard motor. I am trying to
envision how one can lean over the back of the boat to shift, steer and
control engine rpm without bad things happening. This is our first boat and
outboard.

Can the standard outboard configuration be operated easily by a five foot
tall, 100 lb lady? Is anyone running an outboard with a remote setup?
Pros/Cons of each.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Marc
