[Rhodes22-list] Traveling with motor mounted.

I just picked up my recycled 1991 a few months ago. Stan's crew kept motor on but tied it down to stern rail.

As mentioned, this keeps the pressure off during the bumps.

Keep her on but strap her down.

My motor is a fairly heavy Yamaha 9.9 high thrust 4-stroke that weighs about 100+ lbs. The problem is not the static weight but rather the dynamics of the leveraged force of a motor on the end of the boat that occurs when you are traveling at highway speeds and hit a bump and the trailer whipsaws up and down. Hence, one should not allow the motor lift to support the full weight of the motor during long trips, or any trips for that matter.
