Take a look at Beaufort, NC. You could either launch at Beaufort, or at Oriental, NC. You have some great sailing opportunities on Pamlico Sound and in/around Beaufort area. If weather permits, you can sail out to Cape Lookout. Also consider a trip out to Ocracoke. (Writing this is making me want to make the trip again myself!)

I believe there is a group that calls themselves North Carolina Trailer Sailors (or something similar) that might also be a good resource.

Be sure to post details about your trip (and pictures of course).

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] trip suggestions

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a four day weekend sailing trip
to the coast of NC or SC? Starting point is outside of Asheville NC.
Looking for a large body of easily navigable water, a nice marina in
a small town to overnight in, a source for shrimp and of course good
wind.
Thanks much,

Bill
