Beautiful job, Graham.

FWIW, I sliced my thumb with a loooong chip coming off a lathe about 4 or 5
years ago, and it left my thumb with the symptoms you've described. After
about 6-8 months it no longer felt like I'd stuck my thumb in an electric
socket whenever I touched something, but a dead spot began to appear
(couldn't feel anything at that spot). After about 15 months, feeling began
to come back. Now the thumb is about normal again.

Sadly, the same can't be said of its owner.

Finally, after working on the bottom and keel for most of the Summer I
finished today except for the spots where the boat is supported on the lift.
For those who may be considering the need for osmosis repair, I have a few
observations about Interprotect 2000e barrier coating that might be of use.
