 Rummy:  Glad to hear
that you have found a great medical team in Anderson.  Sounds like you, and they, are on top of
it.  Our daughter, who lives in
Abbeville, had a friend who had an aunt at MD Anderson in Houston.  They set up an appointment for me there.  The result was the oral medication as opposed
to the chemo that my local oncologist wanted.  He was a good trooper though and went with the MD Anderson’s specialist’
recommendation.  As I am doing so well
with it, he now has several others on the same medication.

Talked to my brother Bill, yesterday.  He is home and thus far all looks good.  The docs took a few lymph nodes around the
prostate and the biopsies are negative.  There was one spot on the prostrate that they are concerned about as the
capsule my have been penetrated so he will be going in for check ups every two
months for the next year or so just to be sure.

The purpose of the above background is that there have been tremendous improvements in medical procedures so you are in good hands.

The leukemia that I have is chronic (CLL) - no cure to date;
but, I have a solid remission going at this point so we get out on the Rhodes
at every opportunity to celebrate.

Yes, the indigenous people in Vietnam are dealing with AO
after effects and our government is assisting.

I was in country from April of '67 for a year and Bill was
in country for 18 months ('67 to late '68), as he did not want to serve in the
USA.  Wanted out of the Army as quick as
possible.

Yes, there are quite a few people who served in country who
were exposed and are suffering because of AO and are not aware that they should
visit with the VA to ascertain whether they are due benefits.  I've lost a couple of friends prematurely due
to diseases associated with AO.  Periodically you will see something in the press about it.  Not long ago I saw something on TV (NBC, I
believe) talking about it in reference to the VA scandal.

Again, our thoughts and payers are with you!  We’ll look forward to seeing you on the lake
in 2015 – no kidding this time!

Piling onto the well wishes.  Get well soon, Rummy.  I will have a Mt Gay for you on Monday.

Virtually every person I know who’s had bypass surgery has felt great after their recovery.

Best wishes to you.
