I've done quite a bit of reading/thinking on this recurring question. Did
some research and wrote this to myself:

Brooks: After much reading in R22 site, I’ve come to conclusion that I want
a 6 HP/20" with High Thrust prop.
$1800 MSRP (Note: prop selection specifically states one is for 3000 lb
displacement hull)

Sail Pro Model! Designed specifically for sail boaters. This powerful
sailboat engine, available in a "long" and an "ultra-long" (25 ") shaft,
has a high thrust sail drive propeller to give you the power you need. It
also includes a 12V, 60W, 5A charging system for charging your battery or
powering external electrical devices and its own charging cable. Sailing
just got better with Tohatsu’s 6hp "Sail Pro" sailboat motor!

Nice review at:

3000 lb sailboat. He bought 6 HP Sail Pro and it pushes boat at 5.3 knots at
1/3 throttle. At full he can get 6 knots.
He sails in an area with some very rugged conditions (currents, wind and
waves) and is very pleased. He gets about 18 nm per gal at 1/3 throttle.

Just as the 8 is same weight as 10, the 4,5,and 6 are same weight: 60 lb vs
over 100 for 8/10 and uses half the gas at full throttle. I REALLY like
getting rid of 40 lbs on the stern.

Negative: Does NOT come with electric start or shift on the handle. But I
used a 5hp for 6 months fairly regularly and never found pulling cord to
start a big issue - always started on first pull. My currently installed 9.8
Tohatsu does not have shift on the handle and again, it's so far been a
minor issue - I'm just using shifter at dock and usually coast in - your
mileage may vary.

So, my 2013 9.8 hp, 25" shaft, with 20 or so hours on it will be up for sale
when I get some time.
