I can offer a suggestion Paul. Take a look at
http://www.great-loop.us/mast-raising for a way to raise and lower your
mast. The movie that's there shows a way to lower the mast in one move. Once
it's down, the foot of the mast hangs over the bow a bit and the head drops
just past the crutch. The bad news is that the movie shows the concept using
Legos - but the good news is that since making the movie I had the bits and
pieces fabricated, and it works well on the boat as well. Just a thought -
if you're willing to go to the hassle of installation!

I'll get the camera out again in the spring and take pictures of its
operation.

OK everyone. I promise I will secure my mast on the front pulpit. Thanks for
your insight. I am trying to speed up the launch and recovery to keep the
Admiral happy. I would be grateful for any suggestions.
