I bought a used 2004 Toyota 4Runner V-6 4X4. After 2003 the V-6 is rated
for 5000 lbs. of towing. I towed the boat from the shores of New Jersey,
across the river from NYC, to Southwest Virginia. This was through the
mountains of PA, MD,
and Virginia. A five hundred mile trip with zero problems. The V-6 has a
slightly higher rating on torque than the available V-8 with a slightly
lower horsepower rating than the V-8. MPG 16 City- highway 19-20...without
towing.
