Need Tow Vehicle,

By this time you should have a list of vehicles that some Rhodies use. I suggest that you make a list of what is important to you in a going forward. Do you need a truck or SUV? how much room is needed in the vehicle for seating and stuff. Check out resale values, check out reliability issues, develop a total cost of ownership, I also tow a camper (any plans to tow other things in the future). Roof top carriers add weight to the total towing weight and so does passengers and stuff in the vehicle and towed vehicle. Where is your nearest dealer for service (this is a factor for me because I live 30 miles from the nearest town with car dealers). The weight of the vehicle is also a consideration because winds and quick maneuvers on the highway can result in loss of control.

good luck

Ray

You should be able to use any SUV with at least 3,500 lbs towing capacity.  I would suggest a 4wd model just because some ramps can be slick below the water line. Can make retrieval difficult on 2wd only vehicles.

Hi Chris,
What year is your Taco? Do you use premium gas in it all the time? We
looked at them when we were looking for a truck but liked the
Frontier a bit more for our needs. The Frontier only requires premium
when towing and for the boat which we only tow around town, we don't
even bother. Most of our towing is with a travel trailer.
