Larry:  i sailed a capri 22 in SanDiego CA once when i was out there for a conference.  It was a decent rental boat.  It might beat the Rhodes in a race but not on a cruise.  The highlight of that day's sail was when these pimple faced "kids" roared up to my stern with triple 225 hp outboards and slid their coast guard RIB to a perfect stop sideways and tied to my stern in one fast motion on the swell.  I said to the kid behind the .50 cal machine gun "whatever it is I didnt do it!" And smiled!
He simply said "sorry Skip we are clearing the harbor of all vessels for an unannounced exercise". They then pointed to a bluff that was to our east and said go to the highest point there and in one hour you will see the Navy's finest!!
With that they roared off to the next vessel.
I went back to the marina and made the spot just in time to see the most incredible Naval parade deployment i have ever seen!!!! Aircraft carrier, subs, seals hanging from helicopters, transport vessels, destroyer and stuff i didnt know what it was!
Amazing day!
