If it's not clear, I can see the center board trunk. It's a rectangular fiberglass box and the c/ b is inside and moves perfectly. The space is between that box and the inside of the keel

Subject: space between centerboard and inide of keel

while inspecting my R22 on the trailer this winter I noted that there was about a 1/4 inch space between the centerboard trunk and the inside of the keel. I understand Stan would mount the centerboard in the hull and then pour cement to fill in for ballast. Nothing is lose so I assume the cement didn't fill this area. What this probably means is that water gets into the keel (and probably helps as ballast) and hasn't seemed to hurt anything. The boat is always out of the water and dry before winter cold sets in so there may be no harm. I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if anyone thinks it could be a potential problem. By the way we keep this boat on a hoist after every sail since our shore is not calm water, so it probably drains after every sail on
