I agree with Mike. The pressures on the crutch 
are not great but it holds the mast in a position 
where it won't put excessive pressure on the mast 
step, the cabin-top hatch or the crane. If it is 
just the top wing that is broken, a bit of pvc or 
similar and some duct tape ought to be enough to 
keep the mast from bouncing or sliding off the 
side of the crutch. You'll have to detach the 
mast at the step do the repairs at which point ou 
can move the mast off the crutch and rest it on 
the stern rail. Just make sure you have it 
secured. When we did a similar repair in our 
slip, we lowered the mast onto the crutch as 
usual, detached the base from the mast step and 
moved the base of the mast to the bow rail where 
we tied it off. Fred was able to lift the other 
end of the mast over the crutch wing and set it 
down on the stern rail. I think that repair 
involved jib but it was the same principle with the old GB furler.
