You do NOT want lag bolts as this will seriously screw up your cabin top if
the mast falls.  You want the screws to be able to come out.  The pressure
of the stays will keep the mast in place so three screws is more than
enough.  The screws are only needed to hold the plate in place while
stepping the mast.
