I replaced both a worn line and cam and haven't had a problem.

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Rudder Lift Line

The line that lifts my rudder has become frayed where the cam holds it in
the
up position. I thought it would be a good idea to replace it before it
broke - BUT - I have tried both a nylon and a braided line from West Marine,
and the cam will not hold either one -- they have a too-slippery surface for
the cam to bite in and hold. I know they are the right size because they
match the old one.

Any suggestions for a specific type of line to use and where to get it? Or
do I need a new cam too?

Thanks,
