Whatever you use to cut the fibreglass you will still need to grind a bevel
edge to accept layers of fibreglass to mend the cut. I would be inclined to
cut out the sole 4 inches in from the edge and replace the nonskid pattern
with non-skid paint once it is reinstalled. That would be easiest. You
should be able to cut with a circular saw with the blade installed
backwards. You can set the depth to ensure that you don't cut too deep.

Maybe I'll drill a small hole on the side to see what I run into - plywood
or foam. Also it will allow to drain off the water in there. What saw would
work well for getting a nice straight cut on the fiberglass?
