[Rhodes22-list] Composite trim

I have started trimming out the cockpit and have decided to try using
composite deck lumber for non-structural pieces. I choose grey for that
weathered look. The intention is that this will be maintenance free. For
those who might be interested, a picture is attached. For the trim around
the pop top opening and the seats I plan to see if I can bend thin strips of
the material with a heat gun to go around corners unbroken.

Graham,

I was hoping you were going to comment on my situation. Yes, I am only
filling the holes with epoxy. I will rebed with butyl tape since I will
eventually have nice new round (properly sized) hole with which to bed the
railing. I am drilling a slightly oversized 5/8 inch hole. Then I will use a
dremel tool to take out a very small section of the core around the hole.
Next, I will close up the bottom of the hole with some duct tape and fill
with west systems epoxy. After a few days, I plan to redrill and countersink
3/8 hole and use butyl tape to rebed the railing.

Chers,
Ted
