We knew him as Rummy others knew him as John Tionjes.   He will be missed.  
 
Here is his obituary.
 
John William Tonjes, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 25.
John was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin May 22, 1950 and grew up in Fond du Lac.  He graduated from St. Johns Military Academy after which he proudly served his country in the United States Army.  During his tour in Vietnam he was wounded in the line of duty.  He resided in Brooks and Tomah, WI selling and building homes.  In 1982 moved to Eau Claire area to attend the University of Wisconsin and married his wife Kimberly, in 1985.  They moved to South Carolina in 1991 where John was an industrial/commercial roofing consultant.  He was Past President of Kiwanis Club, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, a ski instructor and an avid sailor.  He was a loyal friend to many, always putting the needs of others ahead of his own.
John is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Blackburn-Tonjes; daughter, Michelle Hinojosa and her husband Ben; three grandchildren, Cameron and Colton St. Mary and Jaxon Hinojosa; two great-grandchildren, Lila and Turner St. Mary; brothers-in-law Ray Blackburn, Clint Blackburn and Don Hubele; sisters-in-law Faye Hubele, Deborah Blackburn and Kari Blackburn, niece Jazmyn DeBerge and her husband Brian; nephews Brad Hubele and Levon Blackburn; grandnieces Scarlett and Izabell DeBerge, grandnephew Dominic Hubele and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John; mother Jean (Tennant) and his sister Ann.
Per John’s wishes there will not be a formal service.
