It all depends on the "pee test". When the motor is running water should be
streaming out the back. If it was run without water circulating for more
than a minute you may be in for trouble or have a good excuse to buy a new
motor. I am no mechanic but I destroyed a motor that way years back and now
I always check whenever I start one up. I learn everything the hard way.

I hear ya. Tomorrow I'll turn the engine on. If it turns over I'll turn it
off and consider water pump replacement. If it doesn't turn over or sounds
unusual, I'll assume it's a contaminated line like you describe and buy a
new engine. The middle ground is the difficult choice. Probably 70/30 the
engine is history regardless. It's that 3/10 that generates both greed and
remorse. What odds would you assign this horse(power) race?
