[Rhodes22-list] Solar battery chargers

I had read someplace, though I don't know if it's true, that the DC socket
needs to be active (i.e., power flowing to it), so it may not work if the
battery is turned off.

Richard, is that true in your experience, or was I lead astray by some
yahoo on the internet?
