On two summers, I took a transient slip at Plymouth Shores campground on
Sandusky bay near Marblehead. There is a state ramp about 3 miles away. It
worked out really well, if the wind piped up, I'd just stay in the bay, if
it was nice, I'd head out into Lake Erie. As your heading out into Lake
Erie, ceder point is on the right, on the left is a bit of a peninsula
that is almost all beach. Erie on the east side, and Sandusky bay on the
west ,on the bay side the water is about 10 degrees warmer, sandy
bottom, shallow, great for swimming off the boat. I anchored near here
overnight, for a trip out into the big lake the next day. Within 20
minutes, there is Ceder Point, fine dining , motels, about anything you
could want.
Ceder Point and Sandusky both have marinas, but I don't know if they do
transient docking.

Feel free to call me if you need more info
