[Rhodes22-list] Mast lighting

I just completed moving the "masthead" light to a location about 6" above the
spreaders. It was incorrectly labeled an "anchor light" which it is not
because it is not a 32 point light. It is a Perko vertical chrome light. I
presume its the one that Stan installs on the Rhodes. A steaming light only
needs to be located above the side navs (port and starboard) not necessarily
at the masthead, and is a 20 point light (225 deg). An anchor light must be
displayed at a location that it is best visibly displayed. That would
usually on top of the mast (masthead). Because of the mainsail, either
conventional or IMF, you can't add an additional light behind the existing
one. In my case, because of antenna and wind vane, I chose not to install an
anchor light on the peak. Besides, I'm a little old school and I hoist a
lantern (one of those new LED versions)! BTW, I replaced the incandescent
bulb in the Perko with an LED as well as the side lights. A bid wordy, but
hope this helped.
