I would highly recommend getting a new fixture for the mast , unless you
trailer a lot , and have access to the top of the mast on a regular basis.
The spring clips that  hold the bulb corrode an lose the ability to move
electrons on a dependable basis.  Nothing chills an overnight like
dropping the hook, flipping on the anchor light and sitting there in the
dark. New fixtures should have no removable parts , buy good terminals to
attach boat wiring to fixture.
