Second Lieutenant William H Cowie Jr Platoon Commander of Company E., Second Battalion, First Marines Silver Star - he served in 1952-1953 and encountered some pretty tough combat. His first sailboat was a Rhodes 19 "Easy Company" that we sailed together all over the Long Island Sound in the 1960's.
