If you are not in a hurry you might want to swing wide west and stop off in Milford PA in the Poconos. Then cross into NY and a straight shot over to Conn and up to the Mass Pike. I do this many times on the way from GA to Boston. Bring Beer Elle.

Agree with Peter and Gil (Hi Gil!).If you are traveling on a weekday, try to time it so you are not doing Tappan Zee (I287) to I95 N anytime near rush hour. There has been a lot of construction around the Tappan Zee (they are building a new bridge - it's pretty impressive) but the last couple of times we came through there we didn't have much of a problem with traffic but I think we were midday midweek going north and a Sunday afternoon going south. I95 north out of New York often comes to a standstill on weekday late afternoons. Not sure where you are catching the ferry but from north/central NJ (say around Hightstown) to Hyannis MA is a little over 5 hours driving time according to Google Maps - I'd plan on 6 or 7 in traffic. All of these routes are easier if you have EZ-Pass. Keeps you out of the toll lanes - and there are a lot of tolls in the Northeast.Hope this is helpful. Have a great trip!Mary LouRosborough RF-246 Taraex Rhodes 22 FretlessOn 4/21/2017 9:08 PM, Peter Nyberg wrote:> I can’t give you route numbers, but taking the Garden State Parkway to the Tappan Zee Bridge across the Hudson will take you around NYC while keeping you on major routes.>> —Peter>>>> On Apr 21, 2017, at 8:23 PM, Gil Eaton <gjeaton at gmail.com> wrote:>>>> Hi Elle,>> I would follow 301 across the Bay Bridge, stay on 301 to just above Middle>> town DE, take 896 to 13 North to Route 1 to I 95.
