I had misunderstood your original message.

I just measured my tether. With the board up I have 68" of line showing. With board down all but a few inches are used.

My boat does not have the diamond board - if that makes a difference.

I had some big differences over what you have. My first 1986 R22 had the original CB, and I added a single block. It went through at least 18-20” of travel. This new factory-replaced CB  pulls fully down over the 38” length. I just don’t know where the sweet spot or usable depth is hit.
