Jesse
I don’t see the topping lift connected to the boom in your photo, I also don’t see the back stay adjusters.

Hi:

The rig is w/ fore stay and back stays adjusted so mast is vertical. The
fore/center/aft shrouds should be equally ***hand-tight*** on
port/starboard.

Stan is quite clear about this.

Put your gauge away...

Jessie,

My guess is your mast is reclined too far aft. The forestay needs to be
shorter. There should be a turnbuckle under the roller furling drum. The
upper and lower sidestays will need to be adjusted as well. Check your
owner’s manual for instructions on setting up the standing rigging.
Besides not having the boom hit the backstays, you will also benefit from
less weather helm after you make this adjustment.

I must have something setup wrong so any advice would be appreciated.
I'm
only a year into sailing so I apologize in advance for asking silly
questions. Thanks!
