If you are talking about the brackets that hold the spreader poles, that
are thru bolted thru  the mast,I tighten them so that they can move enough
to raise the mast. Make sure the bolt has a nylock nut that is
serviceable. There is supposed to be plastic bushings between the bracket
and the mast on both sides.

How tight do you all set the end cap?
