Hi Jesse,
Yes IMF is a must have as far as I am concerned. Living on
a boat instead of a house is a trade off of many things. In the end, for
us, this life style is the best way to enjoy our time together. I used to
have various hobbies and exercise activities that I enjoyed. We ended up
doing the equivalent things, but they were more real. No more tread mill.
We walk a long way along a deserted beach, or find a trail through the
bush. Instead of perhaps doing a little project in the garden it is
changing our F.W. pump or making a new storage area on board. Certainly
our time spent together has grown exponentially, but our intolerance or
irritation level with each other has decreased as much. We know this
because neither of us has gone missing. (grin). The flexible framework is
6 months on the big boat, 3 months on the little boat, and 3 months
traveling and seeing family and taking care of our own maintenance.
Needless to say neither the boats nor our bodies are under warranty, so we
do spend a bit of time at doctors and dentists or Stan's parts web page
('nuther grin), I think he would make me a really cool prosthesis if I ask
him, though medicare might not cover it. This life in boats is really
doable, but you give somethings up to get other things. Keep the dreams!
