I'm going on the same journey... ask me again in May :).

In all seriousness, i have rewired my mast, adding the raymarine vane
<https://www.hodgesmarine.com/raye70150-raymarine-i60-wind-display-system-wmasthead-wind.html>
, a  windex <https://www.davisinstruments.com/product/windex-10-sport/>  ,
and a f ancy anchor light / tri-color combo
<https://www.practical-sailor.com/issues/37_82/chandlery/Converting-an-Anchor-Light-to-an-LED-Tricolor-Light_12280-1.html>
. I completed the mast work last weekend and it all looks good.

I'm going to use a cable clam to get the wires below deck and use a simple
terminal block to make the connections. This work is waiting until I unwrap
the boat (it snowed outside of Boston today!).

Let me know if you have any questions.

Jerry

Pic from earlier before I added the windvane, but it fits on the front
starboard side of the top plate and extends forward.
