[Rhodes22-list] electric outboard; Rhodie Wear

Peter
I had an ePropulsion Navy 3 electric motor installed on my new Rhodes 22
last year and the battery (e80, which weighs 100 lbs) installed amidships
next to the holding tank. Stan did the installation.
The motor is equivalent to a 6hp outboard and the battery is big enough to
power the engine for about 4 hours at 4 knots.
The positives are: no maintenance, always starts, high torque, sufficient
power for the Rhodes.
The negatives are poor to no support from the company (the local salesfolk
are good but limited in what they can do)

As you may remember I'm a bit south of you in Sarasota and you are welcome
to come for a sail and see it for yourself. I'm up north (Boston) for the
summer but plan to return to Sarasota in November (Covid willing) so "come
on down"
