[Rhodes22-list] Headsail Furler Cable broke

Bob,

From your photo, it looks like the terminal at the top of the forestay failed.  But, instead of the threads at the toggle joint, this one failed at the bottom of the terminal where it was swaged onto the stainless steel wire cable.  Was there anything still attached to the masthead casting?  Like maybe the rest of the terminal and toggle joint?  This could be the same issue as Allyn and Peter’s boats experienced except at the bottom instead of the top of the terminal.  Or, it could be a failure of the swaged connection.  If you still have the rest of the terminal, could you send a close-up of the swaged joint that failed?
