Like the 87 year old owner of the C&C35 I've been racing on for 32 years says - “ Aging is not for sissys”
He’s still the captain, makes the calls, drives the boat - it’s a little scary sometimes, but he’s still very sharp.
Us Rhodies tend to be aging because - - - it's just the right boat for aging sailors.
I get my racing ya ya’s out on Wednesday nights and a few weekends and get my relaxing done on the Rhodes when I’m not in a hurry.
Different thread but related to aging - - -
After going through 4 outboards and considering electric (I’m on a mooring) , I bought a new Honda 8HP XLS.
It a beauty - starts and runs quietly and uses little gas, but it weighs a ton (118 lbs) and I can’t move it without help. (Any more)
BTW - I had it on a parallelogram type mount while I rebuilt Stan’s 7;1 rig.
I hated the parallelogram mount - it just didn’t work with my stern rail, the rudder and the rig.
I used to use one on a Catalina 22 which worked well, but I was happy to get Stan’s design operational again.
Chris - Heal fast and recover - love reading your posts - thank you.
